The Chain

Designed to hang in an alternating pattern — with each link naturally rotating 90 degrees — the ELLIPSE chain creates a gentle rhythm and movement. Compared to our CURVE chain, ELLIPSE offers greater visual transparency, making it ideal for applications where lightness and openness are essential.

Our installation bars allow the chains to hang in the way you want them to. Choose from Straight, Curved, Straight Plus and Curtain Plus.

Non-combustible Aluminium

Made from 99.9% aluminium, which does not burn or spread flame. We can send our material data sheet to your fire engineer on request.

Straight Plus is similar to the Straight Bar, but is a more premium option with a metal casing around the bar, concealing it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the lead time?

Our estimated lead time is 25 days for a single-colour chain curtain and 35 days for a custom design. Larger projects depend on their scale and complexity, and our team will give you an estimated delivery date before you order, so we can meet your project deadline.

How will the chains arrive?

The chains arrive pre-installed on their installation bars. Each bar measures 915mm (3 feet) long and is packed in its own box, with the chains enclosed in protective wrapping.

What is your returns policy?

Our chain curtains are all made to order, and are therefore custom products which we are unable to accept returns for unless damaged, faulty, or not to the agreed specification.

Are the chains compliant with my local safety standards?

Our chains are made from aluminium, which does not burn or propagate flame. We do not, however, certify our products against national or local regulations — compliance depends on your building and application, and you must confirm the applicable building code and safety standards with your architect, fire officer or main contractor before ordering. We will supply the material and test documentation we hold on request.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. Shimmerchains ships worldwide with the same estimated lead time wherever you are: 25 days for a single-colour chain curtain and 35 days for a custom design.
